Take a trip to the Salt Mine

People go back and forth.

Then Krakow airport shuttle works at full capacity. People go back and forth. Some of theme leave the country, the others return from countries abroad. For some, the holiday season is just starting and for others, unfortunately, all the best of the holiday has just pased. But let’s not forget there are also those (and there are definitely more those kind of Poles) who decide to stay in Poland. Ok , I think that it is not like they 'decide’ but they are rather forced to stay in the country.

The reasons? Almost always – money.

Our country in the world.

Not everyone can afford an annual holiday trips abroad. And even though our country is not the lowest in the world regarding standard of living, it is so low, that we often have to remain in our homeland and njoying the Polish unfortunately quite variable climate with the rest of our loved ones. Frequent rains alternating with deadly hot weather is the norm. Unfortunately, our country is far enough away from the equator, so we can not enjoy year-round warm water in the sea (by the way, we never enjoy the warm water of the Baltic Sea). We can’t also boast azure coast.

But we can be proud of other amazing works of nature. Poland is full of beautiful monuments of natural world, which is so eagerly watched by tourists from abroad. Therefore,  all year round the Wieliczka Salt Mine enjoys great popularity. The place was inscribed in 1976 to the national register of historic monuments, and in 1978 included by UNESCO to the first World Heritage Site. And just in 1996 the Salt-mine was being actively utilized. Then, they completely stopped exploit it.

 Arrives at Krakow

Hundrets of people from all over the world flocks there. The biggest advantage for Wieliczka Salt Mine is a short distance separating it from Krakow. In addition to the Krakow there is also (or maybe in the first place) the vicinity of Krakow airport in Balice exactly. A tourist from abroad, on their own or with a little help of companies specializing in this sort of business can plan a trip to the Poland with the opportunity to see the world famous included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site  monument – and It does not require to spare a lot of time for this reason. Such a tourist arrives at Krakow airport, take an airport taxi, which takes him to the Salt Mine or to the previously booked  hotel from where he will be taken by a company specialized in things like organizing trip to the Salt Mine. All this things, from the time of landing at Krakow airport take no longer than an hour.
